We just released an update of the MX GENIO Exporter which supports the output of alignments and string linework for use with Trimble Access (Trimble Access Road Strings), that now writes the data in the TBC Project Units (Metric, US Feet, International Feet), for use with Trimble Access. The Trimble Access System does not currently read the header records of the GENIO file and simply assumes that the file of data is in the units of the currently open project, whereas we were writing the GENIO file always in metric units but indicating that in the header file - this made it non usable in any units other than Metric.
The update makes it easy for any users to import any String linework and Alignment data into TBC from any third party data format (GENIO, 12DA, DGN, DWG, DXF, LandXML etc.) and simply ensure that the naming of the linework matches that required by the GENIO format (4 character names with one special name INT for the Daylight lines), and then export the data for use in Trimble Access without having to first build a corridor model in order to use the standard TBC exporter for Trimble Access Road Strings.
This approach provides a great alternative to the RXL format for Road Staking in Access and a lot of additional flexibility when staking extended surface elements or offsets to provided linework etc.
