Command Licensing and Default Menu Location

  • The Combine Surfaces command is part of the RPS Modeling Toolbox
  • The command is located on the Modeling macros menu ribbon
  • The command is located in the surface / Volumes menu group

Command Description

Combines multiple TIN surfaces from a design into a single TIN surface model comprising multiple islands. For example where an over excavation surface on a corridor model comes and goes along the alignment, or where the left embankment and right embankment were designed as separate components and you want to combine them into a single surface for TBC corridor or machine control purposes.

The command has been updated to support Reference Surfaces introduced in TBC v5.60

*** ## Command Interface Description

The Combine Surfaces command dialog looks as follows

Surface Name:
Enter the name for the surface to be created e.g. Combined Overexcavation if you are combining a number of Overexcavation Surface elements into a single surface for corridor modeling purposes.

Source Surfaces:
Select the source TIN surfaces that you want to combine into a single surface. Note the surfaces should not overlap. The command was written to merge a number of surface parts (islands) into a single surface model incorporating each surface element with an enclosing surface boundary so that each element becomes an “island” in the combined surface.

The source surfaces can be local surfaces or reference surfaces.

OK
Executes the command and closes on completion

Cancel
Closes the command without further execution.
