- Uphill / Downhill
Update History
Update: September 1st 2022 - v5.70r06
Corrected a defect reported where some complex closed multi-segment lines were not reporting Clockwise / anti-clockwse correctly.
Last Updated: August 2nd 2022 - v5.70r05
Added multiline selection in place of single line selection so that any number of lines can be selected and reviewed and modified based on the new / additional criteria
Added the Closed, Reference Line and Uphill / Downhill methods to control line direction of line drawing.
Added Command Tips to the dialog for user assistance.
Command Interface Description
The Reverse Line command dialog looks as follows
Select lines:
Select the line or lines that you want to review / modify. The line will display the direction arrows indicating the current line directions based on the current method selected. Tap the Apply button to reverse the lines and see the results of the changes. The arrows on the selected lines will update to show the updated line direction.
Select mode:
There are now four modes that you can use to determine the line drawing direction.
Default mode:
In this mode the line direction is the direction in which the line is drawn (start to finish). Select the line(s) and then click Apply to action the change. The selected line(s) simply change their line drawing direction e.g. from Left / Right to Right / Left.
Closed mode:
In this mode, only lines that have the closed status property will be selected. The line direction of a closed line can be clockwise or anticlockwise. Select the mode required and then click Apply to action the change.
Reference line mode:
In this mode the line direction is derived in relation to a selected reference line or alignment. The line direction can be Towards or Away or Parallel / Antiparallel (forward direction / reverse direction of the selected reference line) to the reference line. The start and end point of the selected line(s) are used to define how the line relates to the selected line i.e. for multi segment lines, the closest end of the selected line to the reference line will determine the Toward / Away direction. Select the reference line the lines to adjust and then select the mode and click Apply to action the changes.
Uphill / Downhill mode:
In this mode the line direction is derived from the predominant slope of the selected lines. The predominant slope is derived from the start and end points of the selected lines i.e. if the first point is lower than the last point, the slope is uphill from start to end of line. In the case of multi segment lines, the same applies, so even if some segments are uphill and some are downhill, the start and end point of the line define the line drawing direction.
Color of lines which will be reversed:
The color shown here is the color defined in RPS Settings - Highlight colors for the Primary Highlight Color. Click the color bar to open the RPS Settings - Highlight Color settings to modify the color if required. This color is used to highlight the lines that will be reversed using the current mode of reversal.
You can also set the highlight lineweight for this color also in the RPS Settings dialog.
Color of lines which will be ignored:
The color shown here is the color defined in RPS Settings - Highlight colors for the Secondary Highlight Color. Click the color bar to open the RPS Settings - Highlight Color settings to modify the color if required. This color is used to highlight the lines that will be ignored using the current mode of reversal.
You can also set the highlight lineweight for this color also in the RPS Settings dialog.
Apply
When you tap apply, the selected line will be reversed and the command will ready itself for another selection set and repeat process execution. If you do not want to make a second selection and repeat the process tap Close to finish the process.
Close:
Closes the command without further execution.
